Our technician advancement program (TAP) enables individuals to demonstrate increasing proficiency in a variety of HT&P competencies. The career path starts as a trainee and moves through master technician. It is one of the keys to our low turnover.
Service Operator
Your role and accountability
Prepare and test HT&P Equipment prior to perform jobsites and perform scheduled inspection and maintenance’s on HT&P Equipment.
Executes and supervises the field operations including assembly, operating and disassembly of equipment.
Complies with OPS and customer HSE-Q standards and procedures and has stop authority when unsafe conditions exist.
Provides consultancy to the customer for a safe and accurate job execution, including but not limited to lifting and transportation equipment, lighting, excavations, scaffolding, etc.,
Draws up and undersigns all the documents required by customers to confirm the job completion,
Upon completion of each job, prepares a report detailing equipment performance results and other essential data, summarizes completed reports, time and job tickets in a timely manner,
Is responsible for all HSE-Q related issues on the jobsite and therefore follows the necessary safety briefings prior- and post to jobsite execution
Makes Last Minute Risk Analyses together with customer before starting the job
Reports all potential quality issues and assists to define corrective and preventative actions
Intensive Training : Technician Advancement Program
Each new Service Operator completes an intensive series of classes designed to meet industry standards, it ensures they are prepared to recognize and react to changes in operating conditions and are equipped to keep your project moving forward safely with minimal interruptions. All classroom training’s take place at TDW where trainees can gain hands-on experience on a simulated pressurized pipeline. The TDW training facilities also provides opportunities for highly specialized training aimed at special circumstances – unique product or pressure in the line, tapping from an unusual angle, or certain environmental challenges. In addition to completing classroom training, our Hot Tap & Isolation Service Operators complete hundreds of hours of supervised fieldwork and are required to pass competency evaluations to move forward in the Technician Advancement Program, or TAP. All this results to become TDW certified Hot-Tap & Isolation Service Operators.
